Question:
After finishing going to the toilet and coming out of the bathroom, I began to have doubts about whether I had purified myself or not.
Lately, I have developed a severe psychological sensitivity regarding the issues of impurity and purification.
Response:
Peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you.
According to Sayyid Khamenei and Sayyid Sistani:
If the source of your doubt arises from whisperings (waswasa) and is contrary to the normal, moderate nature regarding purity and impurity—for example, if you counted and performed the purification, and then the doubt returns about the same matter—then in this case, you can rely on the purification and consider it valid.
Similarly, if the doubt arises after purification regarding the correctness of the purification or whisperings about whether water reached all the impure areas, you can also consider the purification complete. From your words, it appears that your doubt is caused by whisperings.
